The Ondo State Government has congratulated renowned journalist, lawyer, and public intellectual, Dr. Festus Adedayo, on his conferment with a chieftaincy title by the Deji of Akure Kingdom.
Dr. Adedayo, a native of Ilu-Abo in Akure North Local Government Area, will be honoured on Saturday as part of activities marking the 10th coronation anniversary of Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi (Odundun II), the Deji of Akure.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and the good people of the state, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Emmanuel Ajanaku, described the recognition as a well-deserved honour for a man whose intellectual and professional journey has contributed immensely to national development.
“Dr. Adedayo’s chieftaincy title is a noble recognition of his outstanding contributions to public discourse, good governance, and societal progress. He remains a pride of Ondo State, and we are confident that this new honour will inspire greater service to humanity,” the statement read.
The government further prayed for God’s continued grace and good health for Dr. Adedayo as he continues to influence and inspire lives across the nation and beyond.
The chieftaincy investiture is expected to be one of the major highlights of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Deji of Akure, attracting dignitaries from all walks of life.
