As one of its Cardinal programs to enhance the development of education in Uso Community, Oluro Club Uso has presented scholarship awards to five deserving students of Uso Grammar school, Uso.
The award which comes in two different categories was done in recognition of the outstanding performances of the students and also as lifeline to those who are struggling with the payment of school fees.
The President of the Club Mr. Ademola Adaja also a retired Principal, described the development as a deserved tonic to encourage and boost the morale of the students in the institution.
He called on the students to at all times build up their moral behaviours and be disciplined in order to actualise their goals in life.
He opined that the awards may continue if the students are ready to maintain the responsibility thrown on them.
The Principal of the school Pst Mrs. Adebowale, urged the students to remain focused in their studies at all times noting, that education was not a thing they should neglect.
She said hard work cannot be relegated to the background in the scheme of education if the students are aiming to achieve their goals.
Mr. Tunde Afolabi harped on the need for the students to shun hard drugs and other social vices that are inimical to their development. “Say no to drug abuse”.
The names of the beneficiaries are Gabriel Godson, Samuel Priscilla, John Gabriel, Others are Olufemi Samuel and Agbede.O.
Present at the occasion also are Elder Banji Ijalade, Tunde Afolabi and Hon. Niran Abitogun all members of Oluro Club Uso.
