The Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s election victory has continued to generate waves of commendation across Ondo State, with Hon. Wale Akinlosotu, Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, describing the judgment as “a well-deserved validation of the people’s mandate.”
Tracing the legal battle from the Election Petition Tribunal to the Court of Appeal and now the Supreme Court, Akinlosotu noted that the victory was not only for Governor Aiyedatiwa but also for the people of Ondo State who overwhelmingly voted for him.
“This verdict is a reaffirmation that truth and justice will always prevail. The people freely entrusted their mandate to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the judiciary, from the Tribunal to the Apex Court, has now confirmed it beyond every doubt,” Akinlosotu said.
He added that the judgment presents a new opportunity for political reconciliation and collective development, urging all parties to put aside differences and work together for the progress of the Sunshine State.
“Now that the distractions are over, it is time to unite, build stronger institutions, and deliver dividends of democracy to our people both at home and in the diaspora. Ondo State must remain a shining example of unity and progress,” the Commissioner stressed.
Akinlosotu assured that the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations would continue to mobilize support for the governor’s administration, particularly among indigenes in the diaspora, to foster investments and partnerships for the growth of the state.
With the apex court judgment, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s mandate now stands fully validated, clearing the path for uninterrupted governance and accelerated development across Ondo State.
